The Kalo Dungar (the Black Hill) is the tallest hill point of Kutch. 25 kms north of Khavda, the highest of the Black Hills is that the highest point in Kutch, at 460 mitter. It is one among the few non-coastal locations where you are feeling such as you are at the sting of the world , on the brink of incomprehensible vastness that fades off towards infinity. Looking out from the Black Hills, you'll understand the tremendous effort that those that undertake the crossing of the good Rann need to make.This is an area that is quite close to the border of Pakistan, therefore it is only natural to find an army post at the top most portion of the hill.The hill is also the site of a 400-year-old temple to Dattatreya, the three-headed incarnation of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva within the same body.
